JARI TANGAN MANAKAHYANG PALING SERING DIGUNAKAN ORANG UNTUK MENGUPIL? (WHICH FINGER THAT MOSTLY USED BY PEOPLE FOR PICKING NOSE?)

Abstract

Picking nose or commonly known as ngupil is usually done by people using their left
or right fingers as a habit. Every fingers has a different characteristics. Writer would like to
know the relationship between the characteristics of each fingers towards the picking nose
activity. The purpose of this research was to find out which fingers on left or right hand that
is usually used for picking nose and also the reasons behind it.
This research referred to the picking nose habit and the anatomy of human’s finger with the
methodology of literature review, distribution of questionnaire and also observation. The
movement of finger was triggered by ulnar, median and radial nerve. Those nerve moved the
muscle of forearm and palm.
The result of this research shows that people mostly pick their nose using their index
finger on the right hand. It is because the movement of index finger which are free and flexible,
also its size that fit in our nose and make it comfortable in picking a nose using this finger.
Right hand also the most used hand because of the genetic factors and human evolution.
