Abstract

Character development in Indonesia has become an intense topic of attention
by the government. One of the programs is the implementation of school assignments.
This learning system has the advantage of activating students to study problems by
trying to solve them and developing initiatives and responsibilities.
Instead of building character, fulfilling these responsibilities is actually tricked
by cheating on a friend's work. Actually, the doers of cheating are not only done by
average students but also those who are intelligent.
This study is aimed at analyzing the reciprocal relationships between high
school students in Semarang in cheating activities. The data collection was obtained
through a questionnaire that was distributed online and then processed in the form of
graphs, percentages, and short paragraphs. The results of the study revealed that from
100 respondents, most of the relationships between assigners and task copyers were
commensalism symbiosis in which one party benefited while the other party was not
disadvantaged. The cheating activity is caused by several determinants that influence
the emergence of the impact for copyists and cheaters.
